On September 22, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Javad Hashemi, Deputy Director of the Smart Structures Laboratory (SSLAB) at Swinburne University of Technology, visited the CSI Bangkok office as part of his academic tour of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).
Dr. Hashemi was accompanied by Dr. Chaitanya Krishna (Assistant Professor), and Mr. Binay Karna (PhD candidate) from the Structural Engineering Program at AIT.
The delegation was welcomed by members of the CSI Bangkok team, and discussions were held regarding potential avenues for academic and professional collaboration.
Particular emphasis of the discussions was placed on strengthening institutional ties among SSLAB, AIT, and CSI Bangkok. Dr. Hashemi also recognized the research advantages offered by CSI Software and expressed interest in providing his students in Australia with training in CSI Software such as SAP2000 and ETABS.
During the visit, Dr. Hashemi was given a tour of the CSI Bangkok facilities, including the SMART Lab, office workspaces, and the café.
The visit concluded with a group photo in front of the CSI Bangkok office, followed by handshakes reflecting the shared enthusiasm in future collaboration.
About Assoc. Prof. Dr. Javad Hashemi
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Javad Hashemi serves as Deputy Director of Smart Structures Laboratory (SSLAB) at Swinburne University of Technology. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and a member of the National Engineering Register (NER) of Engineers Australia. He holds a BSc and MSc from Sharif University of Technology (Iran) and a PhD from the State University of New York at Buffalo (USA).
He leads high-impact, multi-institutional research initiatives focused on resilient and sustainable buildings and infrastructure, while being involved in several large-scale projects in Australia and internationally.
As an internationally recognized expert, Dr. Hashemi has delivered keynote lectures and collaborated with leading global organizations ceaselessly.
