On July 3, 2025, General Dr. Boonsrang Niumpradit visited CSI Bangkok as part of his official program at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). The visit was organized by the Office of the Institute Secretary, AIT, led by Mr. Karma Rana (Institute Secretary) and Dr. Namita Sravat (Institute Deputy Secretary).
During his visit to CSI Bangkok, General Dr. Boonsrang was welcomed by Dr. Naveed Anwar, CEO of CSI Bangkok. The visit provided an opportunity to share insights on CSI’s ongoing research and initiatives in structural engineering and technology. The team also presented current work that contributes to AIT’s broader academic and applied research projects.
Earlier that morning, General Dr. Boonsrang was formally welcomed at the AIT Administration Building by AIT President Prof. Pai-Chi Li and senior administrators. He also toured the Global Water and Sanitation Center (GWSC) and the AI Simulation Lab.
In addition to the discussions, the team guided General Dr. Boonsrang on a brief tour of the CSI Bangkok office, the School of Management building facilities, and the café.
This visit was significant given General Dr. Boonsrang’s longstanding connection to AIT and his leadership across national and international roles.
About General Dr. Boonsrang Niumpradit
General Dr. Boonsrang Niumpradit is a highly respected AIT alumnus and a member of the AIT Board of Trustees. He holds a Doctor of Engineering in Structural Engineering from AIT (1978) and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from MIT (1972).
He has held several leadership roles within the AIT community, including serving as President of the AIT Alumni Association Mother Chapter and being recognized in the AIT Hall of Fame for his contributions to the institute and society.
His distinguished military career includes serving as Supreme Commander of the Royal Thai Armed Forces and as Force Commander of the UN peacekeeping mission in East Timor. He has also held leadership roles in Thailand’s legislative, and defense sectors and continues to support international cooperation through his work in parliamentary diplomacy.
