CSI USA Supports Earthquake Relief in Myanmar & Thailand

In response to the recent earthquake that impacted communities in Myanmar and Thailand, Computers and Structures, Inc., provided humanitarian support to aid relief and recovery efforts.  

On 23 April 2025, Dr. Naveed Anwar, CEO of CSI Bangkok presented the contribution on behalf of Dr. Ashraf Habibullah, Founder and CEO of CSI USA, to AIT President Prof. Pai-Chi Li.

The contribution includes THB 600,000 directed toward Earthquake Relief in Myanmar and THB 200,000 allocated for structural inspections, evaluations, and technical support of government buildings, schools, and hospitals in Thailand. The initiative reflects CSI’s ongoing commitment to supporting community resilience and structural safety following natural disasters.

AIT President Prof. Pai-Chi Li acknowledged the importance of timely support during recovery efforts and emphasized the value of partnerships in strengthening affected communities. 

Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Executive Director of the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs, noted CSI’s continued support over the years, including previous contributions toward disaster contingency funds and recovery programs in the region.

Dr. Naveed Anwar highlighted the relevance of CSI’s mission in advancing earthquake-resistant design and the importance of contributing to relief work that supports safer structures and community rebuilding efforts. 

Representatives from the AIT community, including Mr. Phone Myint Zaw on behalf of Myanmar students and Dr. Donald M. Ugsang, President of the AIT Alumni Association, expressed appreciation for the support, underlining the role such efforts play in recovery and resilience. 

The ceremony was attended also by members of the AIT Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs, including Ms. Lucena D. Talaid and Mr. Bhaskaran Jacob.
