CSI participated as a Platinum Sponsor at the ASEP Conference 2025, held from May 29 to 31 at the Novotel Manila Araneta City in the Philippines.
Organized by the Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines, the ASEP conference was a regional event that brings together professionals, researchers, students and educators to share knowledge and ideas in the field of structural engineering.
The theme for this year’s conference was “Structural Engineering: Transforming Communities Towards a Better Quality of Life.”
Insights from CSI Speakers
Dr. Ashraf Habibullah and Dr. Naveed Anwar spoke at the conference as keynote speakers.
Both had a very unique perspective on structural engineering and its impact on society.
Dr. Ashraf Habibullah, President of Computers and Structures, Inc., delivered a speech on “Engineering is About People: An Introduction to Human Engineering.” His presentation explored the broader role of engineering in improving lives, emphasizing that structural engineering is ultimately about people and communities.
Dr. Naveed Anwar, CEO of CSI Bangkok and Adjunct Faculty at the Asian Institute of Technology, presented “Innovations in Bridge Design: Evolving Tools and Technologies in Practice.” He began with a case study on the recent earthquake in Myanmar and northern Thailand to highlight practical considerations in seismic design. His talk moved on to on how evolving tools and methodologies are applied in real-world bridge projects.

Booth Exhibits
As part of its sponsorship, CSI was provided a large booth space that featured contributions and displays from CSI Bangkok, AIT Solutions, and ACECOMS.
The booth featured a clean, modern design with clear visuals, digital screens, and open space that made it easy for attendees to explore the displays and interact with the team.
CSI Bangkok showcased the full scope of CSI’s work through a looping ten-minute video on a seventy-two-inch screen. The video covered the company’s vision, mission, knowledge hub, event activities, and software tools.
ACECOMS and AIT Solutions provided collaborative support to the booth with vertical displays outlining their services, training programs, CSI software promotions, and other engineering solutions.
The CSI booth featured:
- Interactive VR models of CSIBridge Expresss
- Engaging in-person Q&A with CSI team about software and knowledge hub activities
- 3D models and visuals showing practical applications
- Souvenirs, brochures, and learning materials for visitors
- Large 72” TV screen and 2 vertical displays showcasing promotional and informative content
Event Takeaways & Reflections
The ASEP conference was an incredibly valuable opportunity to connect with the structural engineering community, share practical tools and ideas, and strengthen collaboration with partners across the region.
The CSI team and its partners were extremely pleased to be part of this event. It was a learning experience for all with lots of room for growth. The event offered valuable insights and meaningful exchanges with professionals across the field.
