Hosted by MELWA Conglomerate, The Night of the Generals: A Panel on Incredible Living Cities is a leadership forum, networking and cocktail event that brings together global leaders in engineering and structural design.  

The event focused on shaping “Incredible Livable Cities” through thoughtful design, smart infrastructure, and resilient systems. 

During the session, panelists discussed what makes a city truly livable. Topics include safety, public services, culture, community, infrastructure, and sustainability. The forum also highlighted lessons and opportunities relevant to Sri Lanka’s urban development. 

The forum was then followed up by a cocktail and networking session, which provided participants with a chance to connect with fellow professionals and continue the conversation in a relaxed setting. 

Panel Speakers

Archt. Jose Alfano – Director, Alfano Studio, Australia. He will give a keynote speech before others join the panel discussion. 

Prof. Priyan Mendis – Professor of Civil Engineering, University of Melbourne 

Dr. Naveed Anwar – CEO of CSI Bangkok and Faculty of Structural Engineering, AIT Thailand 

Each expert brought forth a unique perspective from architecture, civil engineering, and urban design, setting the stage for a rich and thoughtful dialogue.
