Future of Energy Workshop

On January 28, 2026, The Future of Energy Workshop: Evidence-Based Policymaking, Strategic Foresight, and Energy–Climate Modeling will bring together policymakers, business leaders, and industry experts to discuss how better data, long-term thinking, and practical energy–climate models can support the transition to cleaner and more reliable energy systems in Asia. The workshop focuses on real-world policy and planning approaches that can help countries move forward in a practical and realistic way.

This workshop is one of two sessions at a broader two-day conference on Powering Southeast Asia through 2050 that will highlight keynote presentations, lectures, panel discussions, and business networking opportunities.

It is organized by the MIT Management ASEAN Office in collaboration with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), and is sponsored by CSI Bangkok, together with Bangchak and Zhen Ding Tech Group.

Speakers at this workshop feature recognized experts and professors from MIT, alongside regional thought leaders and industry partners.

Dr. Naveed Anwar, CEO of CSI Bangkok, will also attend the conference and take part in a panel discussion on Accelerating Energy Transition and Climate Action in Asia: Evidence-Based Policymaking and Strategic Foresight for National Transformation.

• Dr. Siri Jirapongphan – Former Minister of Energy, Thailand; former Executive Director, Petroleum Institute of Thailand and Chairman of the Audit Committee at Bangkok Bank PLC
