Internship Program with Rangsit University Students

Rangsit University Students Complete Internship Program at CSI Bangkok

CSI Bangkok is proud to announce the successful completion of a two-month internship program at CSI Bangkok by four civil engineering students from Rangsit University.

Originally from Myanmar, undergrad seniors Kaung Sett Hein, Min Khant Kyaw, Khant Si Thu, and Myat Thu Tun joined the internship program from June 9 to August 8, 2025, which provided them with an comprehensive mix of technical training, hands-on project management, and professional development.

Hands-On Experience and Learning

During the internship, students contributed to testing, validating, and analyzing structural elements such as beams and slabs. They worked with a pre-release version of CSI Bangkok’s structural analysis software, comparing software results with manual calculations and preparing technical documentation.

The internship was described by the students as a highly valuable and enriching experience. The experience helped them grow both personally and technically.

For one of the interns, the program not only met but exceeded his initial learning expectations.

“My overall internship experience at CSI was highly valuable and enlightening. Initially, I expected to enhance my understanding of structural behavior and software applications. The internship not only met but exceeded these expectations. I gained insights into both design principles and the software testing process, especially for beam and two-way slab assessments.” – Khant Si Thu

Interns agreed that these tasks were both challenging and rewarding. They mentioned that the program helped them bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application. The interns also noted that working on software testing and documentation improved their technical skills, problem-solving ability, and understanding of engineering workflows.

“At first, I thought we would need to do a lot of software programming and was a little scared. In reality, we learned about reinforced concrete and structural design combined with software applications, gaining more knowledge than in university lectures.” – Min Khant Kyaw

Mentorship and Support

The interns all felt that that mentorship was one of the best learning experience during their time at CSI Bangkok. The guidance provided by supervisors and team members was consistently praised. Students appreciated constructive feedback, clear explanations, and hands-on demonstrations using manual calculations and sketches. This support helped them overcome technical challenges and grow both professionally and personally.

“The mentorship was really excellent. Our supervisor clarified complex concepts with manual calculations and sketches, which made a big difference.” – Min Khant Kyaw

“The guidance I received from my supervisor Mr. Ashish Sapkota and Dr. Fawad was consistently supportive and constructive. Feedback was clear, and they were always available for clarifications. Their mentorship helped me grow both technically and professionally.” – Khant Si Thu

Challenges and Suggestions

Students faced a few challenges, including adapting to software workflows, interpreting automated outputs, and applying textbook solutions to real-life testing.

These difficulties, however, were seen as valuable learning opportunities that strengthened their skills in practical engineering, patience, and problem-solving.

“Some detailed reports were challenging, but they showed areas where I could improve. Overall, the tasks were both challenging and rewarding.” – Kaung Sett Hein

In their final reflections, the students shared constructive feedback on the workflow and overall program. They recommended providing earlier access to documentation and tutorials, along with a short technical orientation at the start, to help future interns adapt more quickly.

“Providing earlier documentation or tutorials about the software workflow would help new interns quickly adapt. Also, a short technical orientation session in the first week might ease the onboarding process.” – Khant Si Thu

Overall, the internship was a rewarding experience for both the students and CSI Bangkok, with plenty of learning and growth on both sides.

CSI Bangkok gives a big thanks the interns for their contributions and thoughtful feedback. The team wishes them the best of luck in their career and future endeavors.

As always, we remain committed to nurturing the next generation of engineers through knowledge-sharing and skill-building activities.

We also look forward to continuing a strong collaborative partnership with Rangsit University.
